As I begin each and every show, the name’s Thomas…Brian Thomas. And I am your host.
What can I say about myself? Well, I’m just a guy who is obsessed with Batman and James Bond movies. Ever since I watched Batman (1989) when I was a little kid in the late 80’s, I was immediately hooked. Batman Returns was released just three years later, and by that time, the Bat obsession began. I had all the Batman ’89 action figures and of course I had the Burton Batmobile toys, and yes, I even had the Batman Returns Bat-Missle. If memory serves me correctly, I even dressed up as Batman for a few Halloweens. As for James Bond, well if you have listened to the show, than you will know that I sometimes refer to my father’s James Bond VHS tape collection. Dad had about eight to ten James Bond movies in his collection including From Russia with Love, Thunderball, Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Octopussy, A View to a Kill and a few others. Always questioning what the movies were, my dad would tell me that I wasn’t ready to see them yet, or I just showed lack of interest. Then came Goldeneye. The year was 1995, I was over my grandparents house watching TV, and then I turned on one of the movie channels, and there was Goldeneye just starting. I had no idea what to expect, and after watching it I was instantly hooked. The videogame adaptation for Nintendo 64 was later released, I played it nearly 24/7 and after Tomorrow Never Dies was released, I was all in on James Bond.
Now, I do not claim to be the almighty expert on everything Batman and James Bond. Like I said before, I’m just a fan who is obsessed with these movies. I watch them all the time, I always find myself quoting them, I collect as many posters, toys and miscellaneous as my wife allows me, and I even dress like them. Yes, even Bats. I actually have a full Batman Begins replica cosplay suit. Why? Because I’m Batman. Not really, but it sure is fun to pretend.
So why the podcast? Well, simply because of my love for these two characters. I love talking about them, and I really enjoy talking to other fans like myself about them. It’s my sort of “dedication” to whom I consider to be the two greatest fictional superheroes ever created.
Anyway, thank you for stopping by, be sure to listen and share the show with your friends. Now, “let’s get down to business.” Cheers!
